Personal Journey

Dr. Dustin Rilling is a compassionate and experienced podiatrist committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered foot and ankle care. Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Rilling is the son of immigrant parents—his father from Germany and his mother from Peru. This multicultural background, combined with a deep-rooted sense of empathy and dedication, has shaped his inclusive and thoughtful approach to care.

Before entering medical school, Dr. Rilling gained extensive experience working in various healthcare roles, including as a customer service liaison, physical therapist aide, and central telemetry technician. These formative positions allowed him to connect with patients, families, and clinical teams, fostering a strong foundation in communication, attentiveness, and holistic care.

Professional Journey

Dr. Rilling earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago and went on to attend the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine—one of the most historic and respected podiatric medical institutions in the country. As a medical student, he completed diverse clinical rotations at university hospitals, private practices, and VA facilities across the U.S., gaining hands-on experience in a wide range of podiatric conditions and treatment modalities.
He completed his surgical residency at the Loma Linda VA Medical Center in California, where he received comprehensive training in foot and ankle surgery, diabetic wound care, trauma management, and limb preservation.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Rilling enjoys spending time with his family, exploring new places, hiking, and experiencing different cultures through travel and cuisine. He is passionate about lifelong learning and brings the same curiosity and enthusiasm to his personal life that he does to patient care.
